When Friday comes it brings with it waves of excitement. For many of us it’s a time to begin thinking about what we are going to squeeze into Saturday and Sunday. Whether you are museum mad, a festival fan or seeking a theatre thriller our team have been hunting high and low for the best of what’s on in Coventry this weekend (June 7-9).

Coventry Pride | 8th-9th June
Coventry’s celebration of the LGBT community begins on Saturday 8th for a two day party across the city centre. There are tons of events planned including a You Are Not Alone Coffee Morning, Poetry and Spoken Word at the Herbert and a community stage showcasing local music and more. The bulk of the activity can be found at the University Square opposite the cathedral where the rainbow colours will be shining brightly on Saturday and Sunday.

Fargo Dining Club | 9th June
The epic Digbeth Dining Club (Birmingham) returns to Coventry for a special edition. This time they are setting up at Fargo Village and bringing with them The Brownie Boss, Fancy Fries, Beef on the Block, Libertine Burgers and Tacoboz plus many more. After highly successful events in the cathedral ruins, the Digbeth Dining Club is sure to be a hit so make sure you leave some space for the knock-out street-food that will be on show.

National Donut Day | 7th June
Everyone loves a good donut don’t they? Well, if you do, you’re in luck because Coventry’s Tiki Bar, Samoan Joes (Spon Street), are celebrating the circular sweet treats national day by giving away hundreds of them. Starting at 8pm on Friday 7th, the bar will be flooded with donuts, party goers and good vibes.

Monster Jam | 8th June
Rev your engines for the ride of your life as the larger than life Monster Jam descends on the Ricoh Arena for an adrenaline fuelled show. Taking place in some of the worlds best venues, this non-stop action show piece pushes drivers to the limit of their skills and champions their ability to global audiences and this Saturday see’s Coventry at the centre of worldwide attention.

Subculture Cov | 8th June
There’s a new night launching tomorrow at the Empire (Gosford Street) called Forward Thinking Beats and Breaks’ focussing on the other side of Jungle/Drum & Bass. Hosted by Blackeye and Man Parris it will see Stretch, Double-O, Outer Heaven, FBD Project and more play tunes for those that love the genre.

Transport Museum Breakfast Club | 8th June
Returning after a substantial break, the Coventry Transport Museum’s Breakfast Club returns. This popular event provides an opportunity for vehicle owners to share stories, experiences and knowledge with those that feel equally as passionate about the motor industry. Visitors are also invited to meet the owners and celebrate an industry our city is strongly connected to.

Family Funday | 9th June
The excitements continues into Sunday as the Xcel Leisure Centre hosts its annual family funday. As a community space that’s used for sports, events and children, the funday will continue that theme with a number of child friendly activities and sports tournaments (Netball, cricket and football). For the super competitive of you out there, the funday will also include a sack race, egg and spoon dash and tug-of-war.

Fashion Show | 7th June
Fund raising events are always popular and Coventry Haven volunteers have put together a fantastic fashion show in order to generate awareness of their work supporting sufferers of domestic violence. Held at the Square One Venue, inside the Coventry University HUB, this event is guaranteed to be a truly spectacular celebration of fashion.
